This week, on the podcast, host Eva Hartling speaks with Sonia Virk, co-founder and partner of Virk Viyas & Associate Lawyers. Sonia was born in India and lost her mother when she was four-years-old. She and her three siblings were raised by their dad and she went to boarding school starting at age 5. Sonia obtained her first law degree in India and after deciding to immigrate to Canada, she pursued her second law degree. After some time spent working in a number of law firms, Sonia realized she wanted to launch her own. In this conversation, you’ll hear about the path she has carved for herself, including her work on a number of boards and non-profits, and how she chooses to speak up in the face of sexism and racism.
